Just like younger generations, the Centre for Digital Public Services (CDPS) is a “digital native” organisation. Established during the pandemic, CDPS is not restricted by the traditional limitations of office-based working or the co-location of staff. This gives the organisation the flexibility to innovate and operate differently, even in its approach to leadership recruitment. In this Briefing, we will be joined by Harriet Green and Myra Hunt, who joined CDPS as Co-Chief Executive Officers in January 2022, and who will share their vision to elevate partnership working, focusing on creating “exemplar user-centred digital public services” for Wales. This event will explore their strategic approach and practical implementation of this vision.

Further to this, Dr Angharad Watson, manager of Cardiff University’s Digital Transformation Innovation Institute, will give an introduction to their newly-launched organisation which aims to a be front door for public, private and third sector organisations to work with Cardiff University to drive responsible innovation and societal impact through digital transformation. She will highlight a recent case study where National Highways worked with the Institute to create a data ethics framework, such is the importance of customer data within the delivery of transport infrastructure. Finally, she will talk about support available to local businesses via the Hartree Centre Cardiff Hub, which provides low-risk opportunities for SMEs in the region to become digital leaders through the use of AI and data science.
