Hosted by the University of Bristol in partnership with the University of Bath, Cardiff University, and the University of Exeter (GW4), the biennial Early Career Neuroscientists' Day (ECND) is organised by, and for, Early Career Researchers (ECRs), from undergraduate students to new lecturers, clinical research fellows and technicians, in any aspect of neuroscience and provides an opportunity for ECRs from the four institutions and beyond to come together as peers.

The programme will offer a combination of ECR presentations, both oral and poster, based on a competitive abstract submission process. A number of commercial exhibitors will also be available throughout the day to discuss your research requirements.

The event aims to:

  • expose attendees to a broad range of neuroscience research
  • obtain input from neuroscientists to further research
increase knowledge and understanding of GW4
  • learn about different career pathways
  • encourage and facilitate networking opportunities and collaborations
  • practice presentation techniques

Who should attend

This event is open to everyone conducting research in, or with an interest in, all aspects of neuroscience including, but in no way restricted to, molecular neuroscience, epidemiology, psychological sciences, addiction, movement disorders and other neurological conditions, ageing, circadian rhythms, behavioural and cognitive neuroscience, sleep, vision, policy, social care, ethics, animal models, pedagogy, patient and public involvement, public engagement, and everything in between.

We encourage participation at all career stages, from undergraduate students to Principal Investigators, and extend a very warm welcome to non-GW4 delegates.
