The Hodge Public Lecture
Professor Marion Leboyer
Paris-Est Creteil University
From immune genes to personalised mental health therapies.
The discovery that the immune system can influence brain function and structure has profoundly changed the landscape of psychiatry. Repeated reports of association of pro-inflammatory cytokines in almost 40% of patients with major psychiatric disorders led to exploration of the causes and consequences of this inflammatory background.
Join Professor Marion Leboyer from the Paris-Est Creteil University as she talks us through her research into how this low-grade inflammation is now thought to be the consequence of interaction between environmental factors such as infections, stress, pollution or unhealthy life style with immune-genetic background.
