Professor Guy Leschziner, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London
We think of our senses as a direct window on our world, the transmission of cold hard reality from the exterior to the interior of our minds. But through the studies of patients with neurological disorders, we see how fragile our view of reality really is, how minor changes to our nervous systems can turn our views of our world upside down, and how reality may be different for all of us. Prof Leschziner explores what reality is, through the eyes (and other sensory organs) of extraordinary individuals, whose bodies work in different ways.
