Armistice Day falls on Friday 11 November 2022 and staff, students and members of the public are invited to attend the University’s Act of Remembrance Service and observe the Two Minute Silence.
Those who wish to attend are asked to assemble in the John Viriamu Jones (VJ) Gallery, Main Building by 10:50am to allow proceedings to begin on time.
The Service will be led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Colin Riordan, Co-ordinating Chaplain, Rev Delyth Liddell and the University Multi-faith chaplaincy.
We will be filming the event live and those who wish to watch the University’s Act of Remembrance online and observe the two-minute silence can do so on the University’s website from 10:55.

Please note that access to the VJ Gallery from the horseshoe drive entrance of Main Building will be closed from 10.50am - 11:20am and access from the main entrance will only be permitted for those attending the Act of Remembrance during this time. There will be no access to the first-floor gallery from the VJ Gallery for the duration of the Service and access to the Science Library will be restricted.
Access through Main Building via the School of Chemistry and School of Earth and Environmental Sciences entrances will not be affected.
