Lanyi & Pop Collective Concert

The Pop Collective is a brand new student ensemble from Cardiff University School of Music. With a rotating line-up of 25 members, they play everything from Dua Lipa to The Rolling Stones.

“Lanyi” means “gathering” in Susu, a language spoken in Guinea, West Africa, and captures the communal bonding generated through musical participation. Through a range of instrumental, vocal and dance traditions, the ensemble explores the repertoire of West African cultures. Expect drumming, dancing, singing, and general high spirits!

Together, these ensembles will offer an exciting and unique musical experience in their first collaborative concert.
