Two of Cardiff’s leading musicians, violinist David Adams (concertmaster, WNO orchestra) and Alice Neary (principal cello, BBC NOW) present a programme of 20th- and 21st-century duos alongside two of Bach’s solo masterpieces - the Suite in E flat major for cello and the famous Chaconne from the D minor Partita for violin. A short piece by Peter Maxwell Davies, the second performance of Pier Music by Robert Fokkens (commissioned by the Penarth Chamber Music Festival and the PRS Foundation), and Ravel’s extraordinary masterpiece for this duo - the Sonata for Violin and Cello - complete the programme.
