The future of care in Wales

Older adult social care is set to be a key issue for policymakers and local government in the coming years, as factors such as demographics, public finance and the Covid-19 pandemic align to create a challenging outlook. At the same time, questions about how to fund and properly resource the sector are likely to be of significant interest to the Welsh electorate and the political parties as next year’s Senedd elections draw nearer.

The Wales Fiscal Analysis programme, based at Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre, is pleased to host this online seminar, presenting its latest research on social care, and discussing the findings with two key experts; Heléna Herklots, Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, and Lance Carver, ADSS Cymru.
