Accelerating Computer Science

The Cardiff Technocamps Hub within the School of Computer Science & Informatics will be launching our Accelerating Computer Science programme for Year 11 Computer Science students across Wales.

We will be providing FREE on -line revision sessions to Year 11 WJEC Computer Science students during October and February half terms. This programme will be delivered by an experienced Computer Science educator who has substantial experience of teaching and leading WJEC GCSE Computer Science.

During the October sessions, participants will cover subject knowledge in relation to the Unit One specification and will cover Assessment Object One of the WJEC GCSE Computer Science specification: “ Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the key concepts and principles of Computer Science”.  Across the 2 days the workshops will include:

• Coverage of each topic in the unit 1 specification
• Coverage of the basics of each topic taught
• Support for learners to produce revision resources for each unit covered

October 26th and 27th

Times on both days

9.30 – 10.00 – on -line registration

10.00 am – 2.30pm – workshop sessions (1/2 hour break for lunch)

Numbers

The event is free to learners to attend.  However, we do only have a limited number of spaces available and therefore politely request that learners only sign up to attend the event if they are able to fully commit to attendance on both days during the allocated times.
