Raising the quality of the surrounding environment
The Cardiff Capital Region has a rich and varied environment with significant green spaces as well as expanding cities and towns.
The growth in population coupled with increased commuting inevitably raises environmental challenges for the city region, particularly as low carbon, pollution and waste and other environmental imperatives strengthen.
There are thus compelling reasons for the city region to address the energy agenda and develop strategies to build the resilience of its communities, places and livelihoods in relation to various economic and environmental risks and changes.
This is, however, a region with real energy credentials and opportunities. City Region Exchange will seek to develop engagement projects which raise the profile of both the challenges and opportunities associated with these environmental issues and debates.
