QCF Level 3 social analytics
We have worked with schools to develop and teach a QCF Level 3 award in social analytics. The course focuses on developing skills in social research methods and statistics.
The QCF course has links to various subject disciplines and builds on and develops skills found throughout the sciences and humanities preparing students for university.
This course is of particular relevance to the skills needed for successful completion of the Welsh Baccalaureate and equips students with the skills needed to carry out the Individual Project with confidence.
Students with this qualification may be given an enhanced offer (contextual) for entry onto our BSc Social Analytics.
This initiative has strengthened links with local schools and FE colleges, as well as providing progression pathways for students to continue their studies into higher education.
The course was launched at an event on 24 September 2014 and is now being taught to Level 3 students in St David’s Catholic Sixth Form. We are currently developing a CPD qualification for professionals teaching the Welsh Baccalaureate at Advanced level.
