Kellie Beirne

Kellie Beirne is the Director of the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal, an agreement between the UK government, Welsh government and the ten local authority Leaders of South East Wales as part of a £1.2bn growth fund.

Kellie was formerly Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Monmouthshire County Council. Kellie is a board member of Research England, the largest of UKRI’s funding bodies and a member of the Science Advisory Council for Wales.

Kellie is passionate about civic regarding entrepreneurship and is a champion of the wider Research and Innovation agenda. Kellie is a busy mum to two girls and lives in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside.
