Sylvi Burton (BSc 2016)

Sylvi is a Project Manager at Network Rail, working on one of the UK’s largest proposed railway projects.

East West Rail Connection Stage 1 (EWR CS1) is a circa. £1 billion infrastructure scheme that will introduce vital passenger services between Oxford and Milton Keynes and is the first step in achieving the wider EWR aspiration of connecting Oxford and Cambridge by railway.

Sylvi’s specialities from her time within Project Management and previously Sponsorship include stakeholder management, establishing requirements and steering progress as challenges arise.

Sylvi credits a lot of her achievement to her experience at Cardiff Business School (CARBS), having graduated in 2016 with a first-class honors in BSc Finance and Business Management.

She looks forward to leveraging her experiences to help drive positive change as part of the CARBS Alumni Advisory Forum and is particularly interested in supporting the CARBS commitment of putting public value at the heart of its operations.
