Richard Avery-Wright (BSc 1995)

Richard, a graduate of Cardiff University (BSc Business Administration, 1992-95), is an accomplished investor with close to four decades of experience in public and private markets.

With a relentless drive for success, he has established himself as a highly accomplished serial entrepreneur. 

Richard's experience spans venture capital, private debt, public equity, equity derivatives, and various other financial domains, providing him with an invaluable depth of knowledge in a broad range of areas within financial services.

Richard has played instrumental roles in co-founding various ventures. Notable among these are Pie Funds Management, Castle Point Funds Management, RAW Capital Partners, Wealthify, and the creation of 1818 Venture Capital.

At 1818 Venture Capital, Richard has led more than 40 investments into early stage, digitally enabled, businesses in the UK and Middle East.

Richard also has extensive board leadership experience, where he has held positions in diverse capacities, within a number of FTSE listed companies.
