Dr Simon Tew (PhD 2014)

Dr Simon Tew has worked in the UK civil service since 1996.

Most of his career spent leading policy development work in the Welsh Government in a range of subject areas – including health, social care, information management, transport, economic development, local government finance and most recently environmental sustainability.

Following part-time study, he graduated from Cardiff Business School in 2014 with a PhD degree achieved following an extensive research project focused on organisational learning.  

Simon takes an ongoing keen interest in public service leadership and is committed to strengthening links between research and practice.  The insights and experiences acquired in his leadership role are complemented by work he undertakes as a committee member of the FDA trade union within the Welsh Government, representing and acting on behalf of managers and professionals within the civil service.
