Our PhD programme
The PhD programme will prepare you either for a career as a leading academic scholar or to excel as a business practitioner or senior public policy decision maker.
As a PhD student, you will be fully integrated into our research and academic community. You will be provided with the tools, support, and the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and generate impact in your chosen academic field.
Funding
Via the ESRC Wales Doctoral Training Partnership based in Cardiff University, each year we are able to offer ESRC PhD Studentships in Business, Management and Economics.

Training
We also offer a range of training options for PhD students, which include a combination of general and specialised modules.
Our PhD students in Business Studies can also complete a full MSc in Social Science Research Methods, recognised by the ESRC and delivered jointly with the School of Social Sciences.
Candidates who do not demonstrate a robust training and understanding of research methods at the point of their application will be admitted to our PhD only after the successful completion of the MSc in Social Science Research Methods.
