Global Ecology and Conservation (MSc)
The world is facing unprecedented challenges, and to meet these challenges, we need innovative and adaptable scientists who can develop conservation strategies with real impact.
From the rivers of South Wales to the Bornean rainforest, our MSc in Global Ecology and Conservation covers the major conservation issues affecting various habitats across the globe.
Programme Director Dr Ian Vaughan provides training in core areas, such as wildlife surveys, biodiversity assessments and species management. You will learn how to identify current and emerging threats to species and ecosystems, and develop the necessary skills to tackle these threats with effective and scalable solutions.
MRes in Biosciences
We also offer a Master of Research (MRes) which is designed to equip postgraduates with the essential skills, techniques and direct laboratory experience necessary to pursue a future career in research.
This is a one-year programme designed to provide a valuable postgraduate qualification that enables individuals to undertake a substantial 6-month research project in the laboratory of an internationally-renowned scientist. The programme is well suited for someone thinking of undertaking a PhD but wishing first to learn more about research in biosciences, and also for those seeking careers in research outside academia.
Scholarships available worth £3,000 each for UK students starting a master’s degree in September 2024.
