Living lab
The Living Lab was designed to encourage and support greater engagement with local communities, industry and the professions, as well as with fellow academics in Cardiff University and beyond.
The Living Lab's two main characteristics are versatility and accessibility. This highly flexible space can be entered easily from the front entrance of the Bute building and provides high-end AV equipment, retractable power outlets, a gridded ceiling to support additional installations, and an adjacent observation room. It is an ideal place to use mixed methods research at events that require a self-contained highly adaptable space and antechamber for sustained periods of time.
The Lab is used for interactive workshops, focus groups, environmental and observational studies. It will play an ongoing role in creating new opportunities to enhance the impact of our interdisciplinary research.
