Public engagement in teaching and learning
Incorporating public engagement into our student experience is an important and rewarding part of our work.
By incorporating innovative public engagement theory, practice and student experience into our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, we highlight the value in applying academic knowledge to “real-world” challenges, working collaboratively with our diverse communities to tackle the issues that matter to them.
This first-hand experience strengthens students learning and understanding, and encourages mutual benefit and respect to both students and the public. Working in this way builds on our students personal development and enhances their employability and career development.
For the future of Higher Education, it is vitally important that we remain accessible, relevant and committed to engaging the public.
We are building on the future of public engagement through actively supporting our colleagues and students by sharing best practice in engaged research and inspiring others to embed it in their work and teaching for the benefit of all.
