TV and radio presenter Jason Mohammad took up the role of Pro Chancellor in January 2024.
Jason Mohammad (PGDip 1997, Hon 2014) is one of the most recognisable journalists and sought-after hosts in the broadcast and events world.
He started his career at BBC Wales as a news reader before moving into live tv sports and radio. He is best known for his role on BBC One’s live football scores Final Score and flagship football show Match of the Day and MOTD2. His other presenting work includes:
- Good Morning Sunday on BBC Radio 2
- some of the BBC’s biggest TV output including the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, FA Cup finals, World Cup finals and the Six Nations
- co-presenting Crimewatch on BBC One
- his own show on BBC Radio Wales
Jason is a fluent Welsh speaker - appearing regularly on S4C and BBC Radio Cymru.
Jason has created his own media academy inspiring youngsters who want to work in the creative industries. He’s also a keen filmmaker having made TV documentaries on his faith in Mecca, his upbringing in Cardiff and historic architecture in Egypt.
The job he’s most proud of - he’s a dad of three and lives in Cardiff.
