Dr Catrin Wood
Catrin Wood joined the School of Computer Science and Informatics in 2019 and has worked at the National Software Academy and in the Student Experience team, before moving into her current role in the Head of School’s office in January 2024.
Catrin’s work is focused on supporting the Senior Management team in COMSC. She supervises the day-to-day operation of the Head of School’s office and provides support where necessary to the Senior Management Team to achieve the School’s goals.
Catrin sits on the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, helping to ensure that the School has an open and inclusive community. She is part of the Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team that is currently working on the School’s Sliver Award application.
Having completed a doctorate at the University of Nottingham in 2020, Catrin moved to Bristol and worked at the University of the West of England as a Research Manager at the Bristol Business School. After having children, she returned to work as a Teaching Assistant in her local primary school, before moving back into University administration at Cardiff.
Catrin has been a governor at two schools and has been a member of the University Council since August 2023.
