Each year, the British Academy elects to its Fellowship up to 38 outstanding UK-based scholars who have achieved distinction in any branch of the humanities and social sciences.
We have a number of staff members who have received this honour due to the outstanding work they have done in their field.

Professor David Marquand, Honorary Distinguished Professor, School of Law and Politics.
Professor Carole Pateman - Honorary Professor from 2002-2005 and a Research Professor from 2002-2007, School of Modern Languages.
