Speaking of Science 2013: Call for Abstracts
A Conference and Poster Competition for Postgraduate Researchers at Cardiff University and Neighbouring Institutions
Thursday 2nd May, 9am-5pm
Graduate Centre, Cardiff University
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Eva Krumhuber (Jacobs University, Germany) “On smiles, grins,…and robots! A multi-disciplinary approach to science”.
Submit your abstract for the chance to participate in the 2013 Speaking of Science conference. Now in its 11th year, this unique and very popular student-led event is open to all postgraduate researchers in the physical, biomedical and life sciences at Cardiff University and neighbouring institutions.
The conference is the perfect opportunity to find out about current research and establish useful links with fellow researchers. Organised by postgraduates and University Graduate College staff, Speaking of Science is different to postgraduate research days held within academic Schools. It gives participants the opportunity to present their research to a non-specialist audience in a supportive environment.
Proposals are now invited for oral presentations and posters.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the best talks and posters!
SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT
Postgraduate researchers are invited to submit an abstract (no more than 200 words) for consideration by the student committee (an abstract sumission form is availble to down load below). The deadline for abstracts is 5pm, Monday 25th March 2013. Talks should be 10 minutes long and posters can be up to A0 size, in landscape or portrait format.
