Hadyn Ellis Building
The University Graduate College moved into the new Hadyn Ellis Building in August 2013.
The building provides a purpose built environment for the University Graduate College workshop programme. The lecture theatre and further five training rooms enable many of our activities to be brought into this single venue, which will create a hub of postgraduate research activity and increase opportunities for researchers to meet across disciplines over coffee breaks and lunch.
We will host the student-led conferences as well as activities planned under the PGR Initiatives Scheme here. There is office space for the University Graduate College staff team and space has been set aside on the first floor for researcher workspace, a long anticipated facility.
Please note that the Graduate Centre continues to provide social space and activities for all postgraduates as well as study space for taught postgraduates.
Applying for Researcher Space
The new building offers 40 desk spaces for postgraduate researchers. The purpose of this researcher space is to help meet the demand for allocated desk space for research students at Cardiff University. It is also hoped that there will be positive effects on researchers’ completion times if they are working alongside others in a purposeful environment.
