Cardiff University offers a number of competitive studentships each year to support postgraduate study. Funding sources for these awards can include the UK Research Councils, individual academic schools at Cardiff and collaborations with industry, business, government departments and other bodies.
Information on these funding opportunities is available from the Funding page for prospective students.
In addition, the University launched the President’s Research Scholarship scheme in 2010-11. These “flagship” Cardiff awards carry the prestige of association with the University’s new President, the Nobel Prize for Medicine (2007) winner, Professor Sir Martin Evans. The scholarships are linked to a range of subject areas which offer potential for significant, challenging and original PhD projects.
