			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><em></em></strong>To coincide with a <a title="Distinguished Public Lecture on Multiculturalism and Interculturalism" href="http://cardiff.ac.uk/ugc/archives/2867">distinguished lecture</a> to be given by Professor Ted Cantle (CBE), author of the 2001 Cantle report on Community Cohesion, we would like to welcome any postgraduate entries for a poster competition on the theme <em>“</em><em>From multiculturalism to interculturalism – the new era of diversity, cohesion and globalisation”.<strong> </strong></em></p>
<p>Entries are welcome from all disciplines and a prize of £25 will go to the best poster which will be judged by Professor Cantle himself.</p>
<p>All posters should be sent to <a href="mailto:whittakergr@cardiff.ac.uk">whittakergr@cardiff.ac.uk</a> by<strong> 17:00 on Friday 19 April.</strong></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Engineering Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) is a competition for postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers to present a business plan for an imaginary start-up company to a group of shrewd investors and industry experts. The programme covers all aspects of the commercialisation of new product and service development from discovery, to the first sales. Great learning for entrepreneurs or for researchers who want to gain extra employability skills and stand out from the crowd at interview!</p>
<p>Participants learn the techniques of how to go about planning a new business venture, meet local entrepreneurs and business leaders who have done it for real and have a lot of fun at the same time! There are also over £2000 worth of cash prizes up for grabs.</p>

<p><em>Cardiff University will fund a limited number of places individuals or teams (up to 3 teams of four or 12 individuals for the Milton Keynes heats (12-15 May), including overnight accommodation, board and transportation to the heats and final (if applicable). We will also facilitate the briefing via video link on 8 April. </em></p>

<p><strong>Briefing Session:</strong> Monday 8 April 10 am-1 pm (video)</p>
<p><strong>Heat: </strong>Sunday 12 May to Wednesday 15 May (Holiday Inn Milton Keynes)<br />
These three heats are essentially fast paced experiential training events and each follow the same format and programme. On the Sunday evening there will be an opportunity to get to know other participants in a business networking session. The next two days (and nights) are packed with learning, facilitated by speakers from industry and access to specialist mentors who will work with your team to help you to prepare your oral business plan presentation for the final day. Prizes will be awarded at each heat for specific activities during the programme.</p>
<p><strong>Grand Final: </strong>Wednesday 19 June 2013: Birmingham Science Park, Aston.</p>
