19 July 2013
On Friday 19th July 2013, students from Cardiff School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies graduated at St David's Hall, Cardiff. The ceremony was broadcast on television screens across the School, so that staff who were not able to attend could cheer the students on as they crossed the stage.
After the ceremony, the School held a marquee reception in the garden of the Main Building, Park Place. Graduands and their guests enjoyed champagne and strawberries in the sun (or shade!) whilst music for the event was provided by harpist Siwan Lloyd.
Academic and administrative staff from the School were also in attendance, wishing the new alumni well in their future endeavours.
Graduands participated in a prize draw for a £30 Amazon.co.uk gift voucher. All they had to do to participate was complete their alumni details on a slip of card and drop it in the Graduation prize box. The lucky winner was Jasmin Serjranic.
The Dean of Nursing and Midwifery, Sheila Hunt, presented prizes to those students whose work was considered to be of an exceptional standard. Those winners present on the day were:-
Laura Bevan - winner of the Joan Healy Memorial Prize for the BSc Community Health Studies student with the best overall performance in the District Nursing Pathway
