The School has a range of research programmes relevant to improving health and social care.
Excellent Research-led Teaching
Our top quality teaching relies on the academic and clinical expertise of our lecturers and visiting clinicians, and is inspired by the excellent staff-student relations. Our teaching is research led. This means that our undergraduates and postgraduates are taught about the latest ideas and practice in nursing and midwifery. It also means that students enjoy face-to-face contact with nationally and internationally recognised scholars who are themselves shaping the future of their respective fields.
Professionally Recognised Programmes
We offer a wide range of programmes of study at various levels. All of our undergraduate degree programmes allow you to complete a Bachelor programme and, where relevant, obtain professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, constituting the academic and clinical stage of training required to become a registered nurse or midwife. The School also offers Masters and PhD programmes allowing you to complete our nursing and midwifery studies without having to move to another institution.
The School is proud of its friendly environment fostered by close interaction between staff and students, and an active Midwifery and Nursing Society.
Outstanding Study Facilities
Cardiff School of Nursing and Midwifery Studies is based at the University’s Heath Park Campus and Eastgate House. Our students have access to all of the University’s facilities, services and clubs and we encourage our students to enjoy and make the most of their university experience.
The world of nursing and midwifery is constantly changing, and we are aware of the need to be responsive to new ideas and new developments. The School wants to be recognised nationally and internationally for the quality and impact of our contribution to excellence in health and social care.
