School of Social Sciences Graduation Ceremony 2012

Tuesday 17th July saw the Graduation Ceremony for over 200 undergraduates and approximately 100 postgraduates from SOCSI. 13 undergraduates across the range of degrees awarded were presented with a First Class Honours Degree. Over half the undergraduate degrees were Bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences, with 46 awards of a Bachelor of Arts and 54 Bachelor of Science.
Moving onto the Higher Degrees presented, 46 students received their Postgraduate Certificate in Education. 35 awards of Master of Arts in Social Work were given out, along with approximately 31 Master of Science in Criminology & Criminal Justice, Education, Advanced Social Work, Equality and Diversity, Science, Media and Communication and Social Science Research Methods. Three Master of Philosophy were also presented along with 12 Doctor of Philosophy, one Doctor of Education, one Doctor of Health Studies and one Doctor of Social Work.
A post-ceremony celebration lunch was held in the School for all graduates and their families.
We would like to congratulate all of our new graduates on their successful completion of their degree programme, recognising the level of effort and hard work that was put in to achieve this. We wish them all the best for the future.
For friends and family who could not attend the ceremony in St David’s Hall, a live webcast was available. The BBC’s Big Screen, located outside St David’s Hall, also streamed the ceremony live, and will continue to do so throughout the week.
