Appointments - Dementia research opportunities
20 December 2016
Cardiff University seeks to appoint two outstanding researchers to further strengthen its world-leading research on dementias.
We are looking for rising stars (within ten years of obtaining their PhD), on a clear trajectory to the top. We will provide an unrivalled research environment and research support to enable the appointees to establish their research group at Cardiff University.
The posts will be appointed at Senior Lecturer level / Lecturer level, and be research-focused for the first three years of the position. Each Rising Star will additionally be able to appoint a two-year postdoctoral scientist, and will be provided with research support to catalyse their research via their host School.
Dementia researchers in Cardiff University have made large contributions to the field through genetic discovery, cell biology, brain imaging and clinical studies. We have identified two areas where additional research capacity would accelerate further discovery and wish to make appointments to these areas:
Senior Lecturer (Microglial biology and dementia)
College of Biomedical and Life Sciences
Senior Lecturer (iPSC modelling of dementia risk variants)
College of Biomedical and Life Sciences
