Planning approval granted for Grange Pavilion
27 March 2018
We are delighted to have had the planning application approved for the redevelopment of the Grange Pavilion as the next step in making it a long-lasting community-led facility.
Following the fantastic news last month of funding grants from the Big Lottery Fund, the Garfield Weston Foundation, Cardiff Bay Rotary Club, and Adsa, we are still fundraising towards our full capital development budget before the final stages of design development and construction can begin. There's still plenty of input needed from the current and future users of the Pavilion as we finalise the design layouts to make sure we're planning for all imagined uses of the facility in making it a welcoming and flexible space for all, so please do get in touch or keep an eye out for calls for you to join us for detailed design workshops.
Huge thanks again to our fantastic design team of IBI Group, Dan Benham Architect, Mott MacDonald, Mann Williams, Holloway Partnership, The Urbanists, CDF Planning; to our the core partnership of the Grange Pavilion Project, Grangetown Community Action, and Cardiff University; and to the many other individuals and organisations who are helping to make this a reality.
The newly-forming community-led Grange Pavilion CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) will be busy over the next few months with a range of community fundraising activities, so please do get involved! In the meantime, if you'd like to find out more, share an idea or question, book the existing pavilion for use, or get involved, contact us at communitygateway@cardiff.ac.uk, stop by to see Ali at the Grange Pavilion on a Monday, or join us between 2-6pm on Saturday 28th April at Love Grangetown to chat to some of the community-university partnerships helping bring community-led ideas to life at the Grange Pavilion.'
