Delegates from around the world will be welcomed to the Cardiff Catalysis Institute later this month.
The Institute, part of the School of Chemistry, is hosting the Rideal Conference, the most prestigious UK conference in the area of surface science and catalysis, between 19th – 21st April.
During the three day conference, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from a list of high-profile plenary speakers, including Professor Cynthia Friend, Harvard University, who will offer insights into catalytic processes from fundamental surface chemistry.
Other plenary speakers will be visiting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Fritz-Haber-Institut der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft in Berlin, the Eindhoven University of Technology, Texas A&M University, and Johnson Matthey Technology Centre.
A full list of speakers and topics is available at: www.rideal.cf.ac.uk
Dr Philip Davies, Cardiff School of Chemistry, said: "At this conference we will be discussing work from some of the leaders in the field of surface science and catalysis. As a result, we will be pleased to welcome many of the most significant figures in the UK and European surface science and catalysis communities to Cardiff."
Held once every four years, the Rideal Conference is named in honour of physical chemist Sir Eric Keightley Rideal (1890 – 1974).
