The dedication and ingenuity of staff and students across the University has been recognised at this year’s Enriching Student Life Awards.
More than two hundred nominations were received this year from students wanting to recognise the difference staff members have made to their university experience.
Tutors, lecturers and careers advisors were just some of those recognised as well as the Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Grant, who was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his service to the University.
Academic and University Affairs Officer Sam Reid, who coordinated this year’s event said: "It is important to continue to celebrate the success of our students and staff members within the University, as they really do change the lives of the people they work with.
"Coming to university can be a really challenging experience for students and we should never overlook the difference that one staff member can make to a student’s life; it can be the difference between staying and leaving."
Established last year, the Enriching Student Life Awards are an opportunity for students to give formal recognition to staff who have contributed to both their academic achievements as well as the overall student experience. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Grant added: "The Enriching Student Life Awards celebrate the partnership between our students and our staff. This partnership is at the heart of Cardiff University and I’m delighted that staff members who make exceptional contributions to the student experience are able to get the recognition they deserve."
