Briefly describe your current position.
I manage a team of four broadcast journalists at two radio stations – Lincs FM and Compass FM. I read the news, write stories and manage the team.
What is the best thing about your current position?
I’ve worked for the company for two years and have already been promoted to a senior broadcast journalist. I’m 24 and it’s great at this age to be given the responsibility to manage a team and have shape the news we broadcast.
How well did your JOMEC education prepare you for your current position?
I did quite a lot of work experience at radio stations and newspapers before starting the course. Combining this with the postgraduate course gave me the confidence to work for my current employer.
What did you enjoy most about studying here?
The tutors at JOMEC were excellent and I enjoyed learning from them. The people on my course were likeminded and we got on great. I think the people who teach you and those you learn with make studying at JOMEC a great experience.
Why did you choose JOMEC/Cardiff as a place to study?
I chose to study at JOMEC because it has an excellent reputation in the media industry. The tutors had a wealth of experience and the technology available was great.
What are your plans and hopes for your professional future?
I’m hoping to stay in radio journalism. I would like to work for the BBC at a national level in London.
