Open days & visits

Disability advice

Cardiff is committed to providing an accessible environment for all applicants, students and visitors.

If you, or any member of your party have special requirements that arise as a result of a disability, medical condition or specific learning difficulty, please contact us using the details below so that appropriate arrangements can be made prior to your visit.

Parking

Parking will be made available for visitors with mobility difficulties at Main Building car park. Full details and directions will be sent out by e-mail (to the address provided on the booking form) before the event.

Travel

Visitors with mobility difficulties should approach the University along Park Place, and park in the University's Main Building Car Park. The postcode of Main Building for Sat Nav users is CF10 3AT.

If you are travelling to Cardiff by train/coach, and would like a taxi with wheelchair access for onward travel to the university you can contact Capital Black Cabs on +44 (0)29 20 777 777.

Access maps

You may wish to look at the Campus Accessibility Maps so that you can plan your route around the university buildings in advance. If you have any queries regarding provision for students with a disability, medical condition or specific learning difficulty, or access to grants and support, please visit the ‘Student Finance and Support’ drop-in shop in Main Building. (Please note that the Advice Shops in Main Building can become congested between 9.00am-1.00pm. You may prefer to visit this area later in the afternoon should you wish to have a longer discussion with university staff.)

Other Advice

You may wish to know that an accessible minibus is on-call throughout the day. To access this facility, please contact a member of staff at the welcome reception marquee in the Main Building car park who will contact the driver for you.  In addition, a limited number of wheel chairs will be available from Main Building on the day if required.

Open day programmes can be made available in alternative formats (including Braille, audio tape or text file) on request. For further information please contact:
