Postgraduate Taught Scholarships £500,000 worth of scholarships across all subject areas
86% of postgraduates from the School of Journalism were employed within six months of graduation with a further 2.5% studying for a research degree.
Cardiff has an impressive graduate employment record which is underpinned by relevant Masters programmes and high quality teaching.
The latest Destinations of Leavers statistics show that 90% of our taught postgraduates entered employment, employment with further study or further study during the first six months after graduation.
Subject specific career consultants and advisers provide careers advice in our Careers & Employability Centre and help you develop your career plans after graduation. The centre also includes extensive information resources managed by experienced information staff and provides a wide range of materials including occupational information, DVDs and an online vacancy bulletin.
In addition to tailored careers provision within academic Schools, a full Careers Programme runs throughout the year and includes employer fairs and presentations, careers talks and workshops run by careers staff and employers to help you hone your CV writing skills, perfect your interview technique, write applications and present yourself effectively.
As a postgraduate you can also benefit from the experience of paid work placements across Wales.
Student Enterprise offers skills development workshops, events, competitions and support for aspiring entrepreneurs.
In particular, Student Enterprise organises i-Solve, which is open to all postgraduate students and research staff at Cardiff University and allows you to get involved in exploring commercial opportunities for breakthrough technologies being developed within the University.
The Skills Development Service provides a range of courses aimed at building your confidence, improving your transferable skills and increasing your employability potential. Certificates are awarded for successful completion of courses and are highly regarded by employers. The Skills Development Service is supported by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
