The Classroom Experience Project sources and manages unpaid classroom based work experience opportunities for Cardiff University undergraduates and postgraduates, who are looking at a career in teaching.
We currently have projects running in two high schools, a nursery school, primary schools, a Welsh medium primary, a special needs school, an independent school and a sixth form college in Cardiff.
Some of our projects are long term and require a commitment of a session per week (usually half a day) over a set period of weeks (often a school term). Some of our placements are week blocks which require you to attend all day for a full week. The commitment required is always stated in the placement advert, although with a few of our placements there is also flexibility to fit the hours around what is best for you.
How can I get involved?
You will be asked to register for the project by completing the CEP Application Form
We then add you to our email list so you will regularly receive updates on placement opportunities. We will ask you to attend our induction workshop which covers everything we feel you need to know before undertaking a classroom placement. We also need to have a valid CRB check which we can organise for you if you do not have one. Finally when you see a placement you are interested in you can apply with a CV and covering letter. The CEP Officer then selects the person/persons who it is felt are the most appropriate for that school placement.

On Wed 15th May, 1pm -4pm, 50 Park Place, we will be joined by Share With Schools (SWS) and you can find out about their exciting opportunities to assist with workshops in local secondary schools!
