Your privacy is important to us and this notice sets out the information that will be collected in your use of the Cardiff University Open Day app and what it will be used for.

When you use our Open Day app, our system automatically collects your IP address. It does not collect any other personal data from which you can be identified. The IP address is automatically deleted from our logs no more than one week after usage. The app does collect app statistics (further explained below) which is hosted and managed by a third party company (Google, Inc.).

App user preferences/statistics
Some areas of the Cardiff University Open Day app will save the user’s preferences to the users device to aid the user experience (e.g. to save programme details and the language selection).
The Cardiff University Open Day app uses hosted web analytics software. These are hosted services provided and managed by third party companies. Cardiff University's main supplier of hosted web analytics is Google. Google Analytics is used to help analyse how users navigate our app. The information generated regarding our app, including your IP address, will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers that may be hosted in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating use of our app, compiling reports on app activity for app operators and providing other related services to Cardiff University. The IP address itself is not data that can be accessed through Google Analytics. All data in Google Analytics is aggregated and anonymised.
Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information for Google.
